The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen accused the Houthis of launching attacks on Aramco facilities, including a gas station and other facilities in the south of the country, considering the "Houthi escalation" as a "rejection of peace efforts and initiatives."

The coalition said it had thwarted a Houthi attack on the liquefied gas plant at the Aramco plant in the city of Yanbu, western Saudi Arabia.

The coalition had said that Houthi attacks had targeted a water desalination plant in the city of Al Shuqaiq, the Aramco facility in Jizan, and the gas station in Khamis Mushayt in southern Saudi Arabia.

He also talked about an attack on the Dhahran Al-Janoub power station.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the coalition as saying that "4 drones that were launched towards the southern region" bordering Yemen were intercepted and destroyed.

The agency published photos and a video clip showing fires burning in buildings while firefighting forces were trying to put them out.

It also published pictures of destroyed cars and a crater in the ground as a result of the attack on the gas station.

The coalition confirmed that there was material damage to civilian vehicles and residential homes as a result of the attacks launched by the Houthis, and confirmed that there were no casualties.

Aircraft disruption

Navigational data for the "Flight Radar" website showed that the movement of aircraft destined for 3 Saudi airports, namely Abha, Jazan and Jeddah airports, was disrupted, after the coalition announced that the Houthis had targeted separate targets and facilities.

The coalition also said that its air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards the city of Jizan, "targeting civilians."

The coalition confirmed that what it described as the "hostile escalation" of the Houthis used ballistic missiles, drones, and "cruise" missiles.

He added that he is following and monitoring drones in the air to target economic facilities and civilians.

Peace initiative

The attacks come two days after the Houthis rejected an initiative by the Gulf Cooperation Council to organize a dialogue for the parties to the conflict in Yemen, which was proposed to be held in Riyadh at the end of this month.

The coalition considered the Houthi escalation by targeting economic and civil facilities in response to the Gulf call for Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, and a rejection of peace efforts and initiatives.

In this context, the head of the Supreme Political Council of the Houthi movement, Mahdi Al-Mashat, said that "the proposed Riyadh consultations have the title of peace and its interior is aggression," and explained that "the premises of peace are clear for those who want peace."

The Presidency of the Republic of Yemen had welcomed the call for holding Yemeni-Yemeni consultations at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, and called on all Yemeni components to participate in them positively.
