Four years later, the militants of the PP return this Monday to vote for their future leader.
But this time they will not have to choose between six options, as in 2018, but only one.
The uncertainty is nil: Alberto Núñez Feijóo will preside over the
'popular'
from April 2.
Such is the unanimity around the Galician leader, who will have fewer votes (a maximum of 41,681) than endorsements (he presented more than 55,000).
That is why
Feijóo
has decided not to vote, so as not to "eclipse" the militants in the media, according to sources from his team.
"He is not going to vote for himself. He prefers to renounce his participation so that other positions can speak and that the militants who have mobilized have all the prominence," they explain in the environment of the only candidate.
"No candidate has had so much consensus around him in our history," so Feijóo can and wants to give up the image of the day, they say.

As this newspaper advanced, the PP is going to change the statutes in its next congress (in this one there is no time) so that the militants only choose the delegates and they are the ones who vote for the candidates.
