Xinhua News Agency, Ankara, March 19 (Reporter Li Zhenbei) Several vehicles collided in a tunnel in Bolu Province, northwestern Turkey, on the 19th, causing dozens of injuries.

  According to reports, the accident occurred in the Bolu Mountain Tunnel in Bolu Province, affecting 18 cars, trucks, semi-trailers and intercity buses, causing traffic in the tunnel to be interrupted for a time.

Surveillance footage showed a car parked in the middle of the tunnel after hitting a wall, colliding with a truck, which resulted in multiple rear-end collisions.

  Bolu Governor Yumit said at least 30 people were injured in the accident.

Turkish Health Minister Koca said 17 injured were taken to hospital, three of them in serious condition.

  After the incident, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency, the General Directorate of Highway Administration, and the Fire Department dispatched personnel and vehicles to the scene to participate in the rescue.

  The Bolu Mountain Tunnel is about 3.1 kilometers long and is an important part of the highway from Ankara, the capital of Turkey, to Istanbul, the country's largest city.

According to reports, it was snowing at the Bolu Pass at the time of the incident, and there were many sharp turns in this area, resulting in frequent accidents.
