• Royal House The real reason why Felipe VI was late for Boric's inauguration

  • Opinion Offenses to the King

The Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs,

Antonia Urrejola,

assured today that the president's criticism, Gabriel Boric, of the King of Spain,

Felipe VI,

for his supposed delay in the inauguration ceremony of the former was due to a misunderstanding and that everything has been already clarified with the Royal House.

In statements to the radio station T13, broadcast by Chilean digital media, the chancellor revealed that the matter was dealt with directly with Zarzuela and that

relations with Spain are at a perfect moment.

"I discussed it directly with the president. Indeed, the president was misinformed on this issue, and he also spoke with the head of protocol of the Royal House," said Urrejola.

"I also called the Spanish ambassador in Chile and

we have considered this impasse over.

Relations with Spain are in perfect condition beyond this impasse," he concluded.

Last Monday, and in an interview on television channel T13, Boric attributed the delay of more than fifteen minutes to the ceremony to the Spanish monarch and

described as unacceptable that they had to wait

because Felipe VI supposedly arrived late.

Sources from the Royal House assured, for their part, that

"the Spanish delegation followed the instructions of the Chilean protocol and security at all times,

which are the ones who set the pace of arrival of the caravans."

"In fact, the caravan with the Spanish delegation was waiting in line behind others until protocol and security gave the instruction that it could already be accessed," they stressed.
