The aircraft, a propeller-driven Cessna, went down for landing at Optand Airport outside Östersund at three o'clock on Saturday afternoon.
According to the rescue service, it came too close to the edge of the runway when it landed and took in the snow bank on the side.
It was this that made the plane tip over, and then lie down and down.
In the plane was the pilot, who after all survived without serious injuries.
Rescue services rushed to the scene and are working to clean up fuel that leaked from the plane.
