As a new sanction for Russia, in principle, export bans are for high-power diesel engines used in trucks and tractors, semiconductors for controlling industrial machinery, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, communication equipment, sensors, etc. 57 items used in a wide range of industrial applications.



So far, the government has taken measures to ban the export of more than 230 items such as machine tools and carbon fiber for military use as a measure against Russia's annexation of Crimea in southern Ukraine in 2014.



Following this military invasion, in principle, exports of these 230 items for civilian use have been banned.



The target will be expanded to 57 items for the general public, and a total of about 300 items will be subject to sanctions.



Except for humanitarian purposes, exports will be banned from the 18th in principle.



These products are also subject to export restrictions for Belarus, which has an alliance with Russia.



The Japanese government wants to stop the export of these products, which will hurt Russia's munitions industry and put pressure on them to end the military invasion at an early stage.
