This Thursday in Aubervilliers, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron detailed his political program in front of journalists.

Among the proposals, Emmanuel Macron suggests making the time savings account device "universal" and "portable".

During the presentation of his program in Aubervilliers, Emmanuel Macron said he wanted to open the time savings account to all employees and wants to make it "portable" when moving from one company to another.

At present, the time savings account (CET) is included in certain company agreements and allows employees to store paid leave, which they have not been able to take.

They can then keep them for later use, or, in some companies, transform them into immediate or deferred remuneration.

However, when you change employers, it is not always possible to transfer this accumulation of leave to your new job.

In fact, not all companies have implemented this system and leave is not systematically transferable from one sector to another.

Monetize unused paid leave

The proposal of Emmanuel Macron, candidate for the presidential election, is therefore to make the time savings account "mobile", so that employees can benefit from it throughout their professional life.

He also wants to give employees the opportunity to monetize this unused leave in different ways: "to become an owner for example".

According to Benoit Serres, president of the association of HRDs, this measure could also help retire a few months earlier: "Making it portable allows people who have accumulated a lot of days with a long career to consume their CET and retire 6 months earlier".

According to Emmanuel Macron, this tool gives the possibility of having more control over their working time throughout their lives.
