On March 17, local time, the UN Security Council considered the Ukrainian refugee issue.

Zhang Jun, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, said that it is imperative to call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, ensure the safety and basic humanitarian needs of all civilians, including women and children, and prevent a larger-scale humanitarian crisis.

Zhang Jun said that China is deeply concerned about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine and deplores reports of civilian casualties and an increase in the number of refugees.

China supports relevant parties in maintaining communication, ensuring the safe and smooth flow of humanitarian corridors, and continuing to facilitate the evacuation of personnel and humanitarian assistance.

Zhang Jun said that the number of refugees and displaced persons caused by the current conflict is still increasing, causing a huge impact on Ukraine and neighboring countries.

China supports the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Health Organization and other agencies in actively carrying out actions to mobilize the international community to provide relief to all those in need.

Zhang Jun emphasized that China attaches great importance to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and put forward a six-point proposal.

The Red Cross Society of China has provided three batches of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Among them, the third batch of supplies includes milk powder and quilts for children, focusing on helping the Ukrainian Red Cross to help displaced children affected by the conflict.

We welcome any initiatives and initiatives put forward by the parties to help alleviate and resolve the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
