America: We must prepare for sanctions against Russia to not achieve their goals

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said US sanctions against Russia are not meant to last forever, but rather "until Moscow changes course".

"Certainly, there is no goal to keep all these sanctions forever," Blinken said in a press conference. "The goal of sanctions is to change Russia's behavior."

He added that it must be "prepared for the pressure of sanctions to continue for a certain period, without the desired result being achieved immediately."

The United States and other Western countries imposed sanctions on Russia, against the backdrop of Russia's launch of a special military operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.
