On Thursday, Uppsala municipality announced that it is completely breaking with Attendo, which is responsible for several hundred people in the home care service.

The decision was made due to suspected irregularities in one of the company's business areas, but now also affects employees who have not been involved.

On Friday morning, the employees at Attendo's home health care were told that the municipality does not plan to take over the staff.

- It is very tragic, says Emad Hammoud who is the operations manager in one of the areas that have not been designated for cheating.

He believes that the cheating of a few people should not affect all other staff.

200 employees are affected

According to Attendo's communications manager, Andreas Koch, these are about 200 employees who are affected by the broken agreement with Uppsala municipality.

- We will work so that everyone can switch to other performers or if we can find other roles within Attendo.

But we can not rule out dismissals, he states.

Johan Eikman, unit manager at the Health and Care Administration, believes that the employees at Attendo are welcome to apply for jobs at the municipality in the future.

- But the shortcomings that existed in Attendo's operations were so serious that we had to terminate the entire agreement, we saw no other way.

For the affected employees, the message led to strong emotions.
