The White House .. The Russian financial system is on the verge of collapse and threatens China in case of assistance

The White House said that Russia's financial system is on the verge of collapse, threatening China with "consequences" if it provides support to Moscow.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said during a press conference that the measures taken against Russia made its financial system on the verge of collapse.

She added, "We salute the American private companies that have taken measures against Moscow," noting that Washington has not yet seen "any evidence of goodwill on the part of Russia in the ongoing talks."

Psaki vowed to Moscow if chemical weapons were used in Ukraine, saying: "There will be serious consequences and an international response if Russia uses chemical weapons."

The White House spokeswoman also warned China of consequences if it provided support to Russia, noting that "there are a range of tools available to America that it may use with Beijing."

Earlier, the Financial Times and Washington Post, citing US officials, revealed that Russia had asked China for military equipment.

China responded to these allegations by saying that its priority now is to prevent the tense situation in Ukraine from spiraling out of control.
