• Viaje El Rey attracts spotlights in Boric's inauguration and Montero encourages the Chilean president to "ride contradictions"

  • Profile Gabriel Boric, leader of the hard left, will be the new president of Chile

"I found

it quite unacceptable

that the ceremony was delayed because the King of Spain had been late."

Gabriel Boric, recently inaugurated president of Chile, was so disappointed in one of his first interviews on Chilean television after taking office.

The president spoke on Sunday night on the program

Las caras de la Moneda

.

He wanted to tell how he felt at the inauguration, held last Wednesday in Valparaíso, and was surprised that it was delayed until the arrival of Don Felipe.

"Very unacceptable", he said he thought that delay.

Boric's words may lead to a

misunderstanding

of what happened, but it seems that the Chilean politician is not well informed of the reason for the King's delay.

This is what official sources from Casa Real affirm to EL MUNDO.

Don Felipe has almost 80 possessions behind him, as it was

one of the first jobs

that his father left him when, as Prince of Asturias, he began to have the capacity to assume more responsibilities.

The King is not used to being late for any act, not even for inaugurations.

And for this

he has a team

that is in charge of coordinating the times and complying with the schedules.

In the case of Boric's inauguration, the King's team

placed itself under the orders of the Gendarmerie

and those responsible for Chilean protocol.

They left the hotel when they were told and the caravan that was transporting the King moved at the pace they were told.

Even at one point on the way to the National Congress, in Valparaíso,

they were forced to stop

so that two other caravans would pass before Felipe VI's.

So it was decided to speed up the march to be punctual but once again the Gendarmerie modified the plan.

When Don Felipe arrived at the place of inauguration, they still

made his caravan wait

at the door for several minutes because not everyone had agreed.

"We follow the instructions of Chilean protocol and security at all times, which

are the ones who set the pace

," Casa Real insists.
