The County Administrative Board of Västerbotten is preparing, among other things, to be able to detect radioactivity in the event of an accident.

Then all dogs from Ukraine who come to Sweden and may have rabies should be checked.

Region Västerbotten is also preparing.

Receiving the wounded from war-torn Ukraine is a national issue.

But we are prepared for this.

Most recently, it is mostly about getting interpreters and planning for a health examination of all refugees who come to the county.

It is our responsibility, says Tommy Svensson, regional director of the Västerbotten Region.

Refugees can stay at campsites

Municipal councilors from the municipalities in the county met on Tuesday to discuss how to prepare to receive the refugees.

Skellefteå municipality previously reported being able to receive approximately 400 refugees.

So far, two buses with refugees have arrived in Skellefteå.

A third bus with refugees may arrive at the end of the week.

- We will have to place refugees in old school premises or campsites as there is a shortage of housing in Skellefteå today.

Then there are many children.

The children need employment and get into school in order for it to be as good as possible, says Lorents Burman (S) municipal councilor.
