The agreement came into effect on March 13, 2022.
According to the agreement, both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Serbia recognize the valid driver's license issued by the other side, and one side allows the holders of the other country's driver's license to drive directly in its territory or to replace the driver's license without a test.
For those who have temporarily entered the territory of the other party for not more than one year, the two parties will realize mutual recognition of their driver's licenses.
Those who enter Serbia temporarily can drive directly with the Chinese driver's license and the translated copy without changing the license; those who enter China temporarily can replace the temporary driving license with the Serbian driver's license and the translated copy, and are exempt from physical examination and examination.
For those who have lived in the other country for more than one year, the driver's licenses of both parties can be exchanged without test.
Citizens or resident personnel of one party holding their own driving licenses and translations, as well as passports, visas or residence certificates, can directly replace the other country's driving licenses without taking a test.
The types of driving licenses that are mutually recognized and renewed include small cars and motorcycles.
The mutual recognition and replacement of driver's licenses between China and Cyprus will directly benefit the overseas Chinese in Cyprus, as well as those who study, work, and visit relatives in the two countries. Economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges, and personnel exchanges are of great significance, and have a demonstration effect on expanding high-level opening to the outside world and high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".
In order to implement the policy of facilitating mutual recognition and replacement of driver's licenses between China and Serbia, recently, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security issued a special notice, requiring local public security traffic control departments to strictly implement the provisions of the agreement, optimize the license service, strictly review the data, and strengthen the road law enforcement and standardized management.
