  According to local media reports, Shcherdar Berdymukhamedov was born in 1981 and is the son of the current President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

He has served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Member of the National Security Committee of Turkey.

During the election campaign, Shcherdar Berdymukhamedov said that if elected, he will continue the current "neutral" foreign policy and develop friendly relations with countries around the world.

  According to local media Turkmenportal, Turkmenistan held a presidential election on the 12th, and a total of 9 candidates participated in the election.

According to the Turkish Central Election Commission, there were more than 3.4 million registered voters in this election, and there were 2,577 polling stations in China and 41 overseas polling stations.

A total of 97.12% of voters in Turkey participated in the voting.

According to the country's electoral law, if more than 50% of registered voters participate in the voting, the election is legal and valid.

  The current president, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, was elected president in February 2007 and was re-elected twice in 2012 and 2017.

Turkmenistan amended its constitution in September 2016, extending the presidential term from five to seven years.

In February this year, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov announced early presidential elections.

In the same month, preparations for the presidential election officially began, and then, according to the Turkish Central Election Commission, the presidential election was confirmed to be held on March 12.
