The Bas-Rhin prefecture has decided to set up driving refresher courses for seniors, who sometimes passed their license more than 50 years ago.
An initiative to limit the risk of road accidents, in which the elderly are increasingly involved.
Seniors are increasingly involved in road accidents: 85 were killed in January, ie over 30% in one year.
Hence this initiative of the prefecture of Bas-Rhin to set up refresher courses for those who have passed their license for sometimes more than 50 years.

"We're going to talk about road signs, the use of lights, signs and light signals. Don't worry, we're not going to withdraw your license when you leave, you keep it whatever happens".
A bit like at school, fifteen men and women over 65 listen attentively to two driving license inspectors.

"It's been 53 years since I passed my license, so it has evolved," he says.
"It's always interesting to know the new panels. We put everyone in safety", continues Blanche.
"There should almost be more people attending this kind of training," continues Gérard.
Jacques Münch, driving license inspector, has been leading these sessions with seniors for several years.
"We realized that this was one of the most represented categories in road fatalities. They are not all up to date on traffic density, new signs, new regulations...", he explains. -he.
Three other half-day courses are still planned this month in the Bas-Rhin.
