For a long time, the users of a youth center in Santa Maria d'Oló (Barcelona) used it as an ashtray.

It was a bomb from the Civil War and no one thought there was a risk until someone suspected that it might still contain explosive material.

That is why they alerted the Mossos d'Esquadra who discovered that these suspicions were well founded.

Agents from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Area (Tedax) examined the device and decided to take it away to make it explode safely.

They did so shortly after receiving a call from this center of entities in the town where the youth center is located and where it was used as an ashtray without being aware of the risk.

The Mossos remind that if someone finds an artifact suspected of being a bomb, despite the fact that it appears to be in poor condition as it is old, it is better not to touch it and call the emergency services.

Much less pouring ash on top.
