CNN reported that an Asian woman was beaten more than 130 times in just 1 minute and 30 seconds in New York, USA.

According to police, an Asian woman in her 60s, returning to her home in Yonkers, New York, heard racial slurs while passing by Thamel Esco, a male suspect in her 40s, standing in front of her own apartment on the evening of the 11th, police said.

The woman walked past it and entered the entrance to her apartment, and as she tried to open the door to her lobby, her suspect approached from behind her and struck her in the head.

The suspect later punched the woman on the floor 125 times in the head and face, kicked her seven times and then spat at her, police said.

According to a video released by the police, the assault lasted 1 minute and 30 seconds.

The police arrived at the scene at around 6:11 pm that day, found and arrested the suspect standing outside the apartment.

The suspect was charged with attempted murder and second-degree assault, and a hate crime charge was also charged, police said.

The woman who was assaulted by her was taken to a severe trauma center with multiple bruises and lacerations to her head and face, fractured bones in her face, and bleeding in the brain, she added, adding that she is now in stable condition.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, racist crimes targeting Asians have not ceased in the United States and have recently been increasing in New York.

On the 3rd, a man in his twenties who roamed downtown Manhattan, New York and targeted only Asian women was charged with assault and hate crimes.

Last month, in Manhattan's Chinatown, a Korean woman of Korean descent, Christina Yuna Lee, in her 30s was killed by a gunshot wound by her homeless man, and a 52-year-old South Korean diplomat from the South Korean delegation to the United Nations was assaulted on the street.

According to Stop Asian Hate Crimes, a non-profit organization that tracks racism against Asian Americans, between March 19, 2020 and the end of last year, a total of 1905 hate crimes against Asians were reported to the group.
