Strike Truck drivers warn: "If they don't negotiate with us, this will get worse"
A 33-year-old transporter has been
accidentally shot in the abdomen
when he struggled with a national police officer in civilian clothes during an incident with members of an informative picket of workers located in the Barral de San Fernando de Henares logistics park in Madrid, according to police sources.
The wounded man has been transferred by the Summa in a serious and stable condition to the Madrid Hospital of La Princesa, according to sources from Emergencies 112 Community of Madrid.
The agent was also slightly injured with bruises.
He has been evacuated to the Torrejón de Ardoz Hospital.
The events occurred when several carriers
had established an information picket in the El Barral industrial estate due to the indefinite strike called by
the Platform for the Defense of the National and International Road Goods Transport Sector.
The workers
went through the area and tried to stop the trucks,
at kilometer 12 of the M-206, next to the M-50, in the municipality of San Fernando de Henares.
At that time, several national police officers who had been warned of possible clashes between strikers and workers who did not support the strikes intervened.
At 11:00 p.m., a driver on board a truck who did not give in to the demands of the picket was surrounded.
Several people broke the glass and tried to access the cabin.
At that moment, a plainclothes policeman intervened.
The police and the transporter have struggled, both have fallen to the ground and
there has been a fortuitous shot
that has reached the member of the information picket, according to the police version and witnesses.
The agents have immediately notified 112. The Summa doctors have arrived very quickly and have treated the wounded man.
The bullet had not hit any vital organs.
In a video circulating on social networks, the agent himself, dressed in civilian clothes, and the wounded transporter, lying on the ground after the shot, argue in the middle of the street.
- "You came for me, you ripped off my badge and gun,"
says the plainclothes policeman angrily who wears a hat on his head.
The carrier, lying on the ground, answers him on the recording:
-"I didn't hit you. I'm very sorry, I didn't know you were a police officer."
Meanwhile, the agents assure in the footage that they have already called an ambulance and try to calm other members of the picket, including the brother of the wounded man.
The National Police investigates the facts.
At the scene of the incident, the agents have questioned several of the witnesses and
have identified some of the carriers
who were part of the information picket.
In addition to the gunshot wound, a 43-year-old man was treated by the emergency medical services for bruises and was transferred in a minor condition to the Torrejón de Ardoz Hospital.
