Ukraine's foreign minister criticizes German policy towards Russia

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba criticized Germany for its long-standing policy with Russia.

During his appearance in a political interview on the German public network "ARD", on Sunday evening, Kuleba accused that Germany had already contributed to the current Russian situation.

Kuleba noted that because of this, Ukraine hoped that Berlin would do enough for now to stop Russia amid its invasion of Ukraine.

Describing Germany and Ukraine as "partner countries," Kuleba said he hoped Germany would help Ukraine obtain the necessary weapons it needs to defend itself, help punish Russia with tougher sanctions, and support Ukraine in its bid for EU membership.

Ukraine's foreign minister acknowledged that joining the European Union could be a long process.
