Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa stressed that "Expo 2020 Dubai" highlights the collective hope of the world after the health pandemic it has gone through, noting that the exhibition provided his country with an opportunity to strengthen relations with countries.

He said during his country's celebration of its National Day at Expo Dubai: "The exhibition brought together 192 countries following a global health pandemic, is a reflection of our collective hope, and our determination to build a prosperous future for all through a world that works in harmony."

Zimbabwe's celebrations of its National Day began at Expo Dubai yesterday, with flag-raising ceremonies and the national anthems of the UAE and Zimbabwe.

Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, welcomed the President of Zimbabwe and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The celebrations witnessed an artistic show, which focused on honoring the leading women, and celebrated the energy and historical influence of Queen Luzekie, as the show brought together several artists from the second largest city in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo.

Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak said: “Zimbabwe, by sharing its vision, is focusing on using technology to improve the lives of its people and make them smarter and more advanced.

It also highlights its role as an important destination for investment in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture and tourism.”

He added, "We are proud of the prosperous relationship that brings together our two countries, and we look forward to expanding the scope of our current partnerships in various fields, including agriculture, education, sustainable development, and others, with the aim of ensuring the progress and well-being of our countries and peoples."

The Zimbabwe Pavilion, located in the Opportunity Zone, focuses on the African nation's culture, people, heritage and fertile land, highlighting its vision of embracing technology and a better smart life for its people.

Through virtual reality, visitors can enjoy the “seven wonders of the world” in Zimbabwe: Victoria Falls, people and culture, rich history and heritage, unspoiled wildlife and nature, the mighty Zambezi, the legendary Kariba, and the charm of the Eastern Highlands.

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa said: "Expo 2020 Dubai has provided our government with a platform to establish and strengthen strategic partnerships, as well as bilateral and multilateral dialogue, while sharing new innovations and trends towards attracting foreign direct investment in key sectors of our economy for mutual benefit."
