The plaintiff is a young woman, the prosecutor says.

- The man is a patrolling police officer and this happens in his spare time, says Jim Westerberg, chief prosecutor at the Special Prosecutor's Office.

The incident must have taken place at Smögen during the summer of 2016. Why it has not been reported until now, the prosecutor does not want to comment on.

- I take that in the district court, the plaintiffs get to hear about it, says Jim Westerberg.

What does it mean that the accused man is a police officer?

This means that, in addition to a sentence of a couple of years in prison, he risks losing his job as a police officer.

It is decided by the police responsibility committee.

The evidence includes interrogation of several witnesses and text messages.

Jim Westerberg considers the state of evidence to be good.

- There is research and statistics on when you get success in court, and a success in courts is if the plaintiff reacts and acts in connection with the act and tells what happened.

It has happened in this case.

So I see that as strong in this, says Jim Westerberg.

The accused man denies the crime.
