Hear Martin Magnusson, medical advisor in health and medical care in Östergötland and deputy vaccination coordinator in the county tell more what the week means for Östergötlanders in the clip above.

The government has commissioned the Swedish Public Health Agency to carry out the national theme week.

- Vaccination is one of the most important tools for us to be able to handle this pandemic and meet it in a good way in the future and then it is important that as many as possible take the offered vaccine and it applies to all doses and we also know that the effect of the vaccination decreases gradually, which means that you have to supplement the vaccination to get full protection, says Martin Magnusson.

Decreased interest in vaccination

In connection with the release of the coronary restrictions, interest in vaccination decreased and there are plenty of free times at the vaccination clinics.

There is now a new protein-based vaccine, albeit on a limited scale.

Martin Magnusson believes that this may have some significance.

-It is more of a traditionally produced vaccine, it still gives a relatively good protective effect, perhaps not quite as high as the MRNA vaccine we had, but it is produced in a different way.

We know that there are some who have been hesitant about MRNA vaccine and then this new vaccine that we will have limited access to may be an alternative, he says.
