Between the first and the last week of February, the number of 3-dose doses taken decreased by 77 percent in the Kalmar Region (see fact box).

The number of doses 1,2 and 4 taken also decreases, the figures show.

- The willingness to vaccinate has decreased when the restrictions were lifted in Sweden.

There is a clear downward trend across the board, says Marie Ragnarsson, vaccine coordinator in the Kalmar Region.

The same clear tendency can be seen in Kronoberg.

The corresponding decrease during the same period in February was 73 percent in Kronoberg.

- We can see that our residents are not so willing to book appointments anymore.

We can also see residents who have booked an appointment but who do not show up after the restrictions have been removed, says Marie Jadner, vaccination coordinator in Kronoberg.

Drop in at more places a week

In the coming week, a national vaccination week will be held where an attempt will be made to increase the willingness to vaccinate again.

The idea is to focus on places where many people move and places where it is known that vaccination coverage is still low.

In Kronoberg, drop-in vaccination will be offered at two large grocery stores in Växjö and Ljungby.

So also in Kalmar and Västervik and at Folkets park in Oskarshamn.

In addition, all health centers in Kalmar and Kronoberg will offer drop-in vaccination during the week.
