Continued chaos - can be rushed even to temporary passes

- The waiting times we have today are not acceptable.

We understand that too.

But we do our utmost to be able to increase the number of bookable times, says Maria Lilley, group manager for the passport operations in Karlskrona.

The corona pandemic is described as the reason for the rush after work, when the queue quickly filled up as the restrictions eased.

In Region South alone, 200,000 people have passports that have expired, but have not been renewed during the pandemic.

Eleven places in the country

There is now also concern that the queue to obtain a temporary passport may be long, as this is only issued in eleven places in the country.

In southern Sweden, it is done in Malmö and in Karlskrona.

- Absolutely it can be a rush for them too.

The long waiting time only applies to get some time to do the workout.

The actual completion of the passport once you have an appointment is still about six days.
