Police were alerted to an apartment building after a woman who was bleeding from the head had been seen by people in the stairwell.
The police patrol that arrived at the scene was able to establish that the woman's injuries were not serious.
But in the apartment they found a man who had cuts to his head.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The woman was arrested and later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
