Many of Ukraine's residents were awakened on Sunday morning by flight alarms - they sounded in almost all regions of the country.

In most places the alarms were later sounded, but in western Ukraine several Russian attacks were carried out.

At least 35 people were killed in a Russian attack on a military base in Javoriv - just a few miles from the Polish border.

An airfield in Ivano-Frankivsk was also hit by Russian shelling.

Fighting and air strikes in several cities

In eastern and central Ukraine, fierce fighting continues between the Russian and Ukrainian military.

Some evacuations have also been carried out during the day.

But the besieged city of Mariupol is still isolated.

Attempts to send supplies and evacuate civilians failed - again.

Several previous evacuations have been called off after Russian shelling, according to Ukrainian authorities.

The city government describes the situation as very difficult.

The power supply is said to be cut off, and the food and water reserves are about to run out.

Information on Russian attacks comes from cities such as Chernihiv and Mykolaiv.

Among other things, several residential buildings, as well as a school, have been hit by airstrikes.
