- We have found some damage to a building.

It is a residential area, but I have no information about exactly what kind of building it is, says police spokesperson Helena Boström Thomas.

It was at a quarter past eight that the loud bang was heard in Torsvik on Lidingö.

The police sent several resources to try to find out what had happened.

During the evening, an area has been cordoned off.

- It is still unclear what caused the explosion.

Technicians will investigate the site so then maybe we will get an answer to that, says Helena Boström Thomas.

Is there a threat against anyone in the area?

- It's too early to say

The police check vehicles in the area, including on the Lidingö bridge, but the bridge is open for traffic.

A preliminary investigation into gross general destruction and crime against flammable and explosive goods has been launched.

No one is currently detained.
