The Union of Humanist Democrats (UDH-Yuki) was undermined by internal dissension, just after the death, which occurred in March 2021, of its leader Guy-Brice Parfait Kolélas.

One current wanted a congress immediately for the designation of a successor, while another opposed, wishing that the congress be held after the legislative elections of July 2022. The two camps ironed out their differences during an extraordinary general meeting held this weekend in Brazzaville.

Wanting to see their political formation united, as before the death of its founding president, the militants and sympathizers of the UDH-Yuki arrived at this assembly a little tense.

In the end, they came away relieved, according to Diop Mahouckous, deputy director of communication for UDH-Yuki, who claims that the two opposing camps have watered down their wine.

“

All these contradictions were ironed out during this Extraordinary General Assembly which sealed the reconciliation of the two conflicting parties.

Now, the UDH-Yuki is in the starting blocks for the next legislative, local and senatorial elections,

 ” he explains.

A congress planned after the local and legislative elections

Diop Mahouckous reassures everyone about the future of the party: “

The idea of an implosion or any disappearance of the party has never crossed the minds of its leaders.

The future is certain

 ”.

According to another official of the UDH-Yuki, the congress intended to make it possible to designate the new governing bodies of the party will only take place after the legislative and local elections in the summer.
