Baghdad summons the Iranian ambassador to protest the Erbil attack

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that it had summoned the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad in order to inform him of the Iraqi government's protest against the missile attack that targeted Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq.

In a statement, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemned the "blatant violation of the sovereignty and territory of the Republic of Iraq," adding that it had summoned "this afternoon the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Iraq, and informed him of the Iraqi government's protest against the Iranian missile bombardment of the Erbil governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq."
