Presidential: Macron promises "a new great permanent debate" around the reforms

President Emmanuel Macron assured Saturday that in the event of re-election, he would lead "a new great permanent debate" with the French around several projects, such as "school, health, institutional reform", so that "responsibility "reforms" be shared".

"I want our project to be based on a method involving more of our compatriots, over time, including the day after the election, by giving them a place as real actors", pleaded the Head of State, in a video of about twenty minutes put online on Saturday and which must be broadcast in several regional meetings for the presidential campaign.

The promise of a "new great permanent debate" in the event of re-election

During the quinquennium which is ending, "we have implemented reforms sometimes with cavalcade, with hussar. And our compatriots, even when they believed, wanted to be also the actors, wanted to bring these reforms", observed Emmanuel Macron.

Referring to "major projects on school, health, institutional reform", Emmanuel Macron therefore assured that if he were re-elected, "for months, we will lead a new major permanent debate to act".

The slogan "'With you', it will not stop with the vote. During the next five years we will preside, govern, act with you" because "the responsibility must be shared in the end", has he insisted.

Emmanuel Macron also confirmed that he would give more details on his program "next week", promising in particular "great ambitions for our school, our health, the care of dependency and therefore a real autonomy project which is essential for old age" or even "strong measures for ecology, equality between women and men, for inclusion".

A project structured in four pacts

In this context, Emmanuel Macron indicated that his project would be "structured" around four "pacts".

The "European pact, for our protection, our sovereignty";

"a pact between generations, from infancy to old age";

"a productive pact because to support our social model (...), we must be able to work more and produce more";

and "a republican pact because the unity of the nation also involves the defense of secularism, stronger security and justice, respect for our borders and a project of republican integration".

Emmanuel Macron has returned to the pension reform, which he intends to carry out "rapidly", in particular bringing the legal age of departure, "gradually and in stages to 65".

This reform "will first take into account long careers and difficult careers because you have to be fair, working until age 65 is not the same thing for everyone", he assured.

As for ecology, on this day of "march for the climate", he sees in it "an anti expensive shield".

Emmanuel Macron thus assured that he wanted to "go further" to allow "the middle classes" to "change vehicles more easily and faster", and thus buy "hybrid or electric vehicles"
