It is a non-profit organization that creates meetings between newly arrived and established Swedes through friend matching.
Today, a record number of people born abroad are queuing up to make a friend in Stockholm, and since the war in Ukraine broke out, the organization behind the friendship project is already noticing an increased willingness among Swedes to stand up as friends.
- I think that many people are reminded that people need to flee their countries and build a new life and then it is natural that you think about what you can do yourself, says Johan Bäckström who is operations manager at Kompis Sverige.
