Before the weekend, the closed nursing home Västerhäll in Tenhult consisted of empty apartments that breathed service housing.

Accessibility adapted with simpler kitchen and common areas.

But since early Friday morning, the rooms have been transformed into family homes with bunk beds and cots.

Can accommodate 100 people: "Everyone shows up"

By Monday, the house must be ready to move into and in total there will be room for just over 100 people.

- It feels good.

All of us who work with it show up, it is not our normal job.

But now we are driving so that it is clear, says area manager Simon Bremer at Jönköping municipality.

In addition to municipal employees, about 20 volunteers showed up and knocked.

They help with everything from carrying, screwing up beds and cleaning.

A family who came from Ukraine on Sunday has also come to help.

In the clip below, you hear Julia talk about it.
