The quake was noted at 04.27 and measured 1.7, but 19 minutes later the much stronger quake came.
It was then followed by a couple of aftershocks, the largest of which with a magnitude of 2.4.
The main quake had its epicenter 15 kilometers north of Ed.
The Swedish national seismic network received a total of reports from 47 residents in the area.
