A municipal policeman injured by a man armed with a knife in Marseille

A man attacked municipal police officers with a knife on the Old Port of Marseille, this Saturday morning around 9 a.m., according to information from

One of the police officers was injured, the other officials fired back, killing the attacker.

"An individual would have burst with a knife into a premises of the Municipal Police next to the Central Town Hall on the Old Port", indicated a police source to France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, specifying that the attacker had "managed to injure a colleague in the wrist".

Benoit Payan, the mayor of Marseille, and the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, visiting Marseille this Saturday, go there.
