Compared with the same period last year, the police in the Central region see an increase, especially in Västmanland.
But you can now see tendencies towards an increase in fuel theft also in Uppsala County.
And it is no longer just about networks that strike at larger vehicles such as tractors, but now you see new patterns where fuel is stolen from private cars.
Recently, two car owners in Knivsta were affected, says police spokesman Jonas Eronen.
He believes that the trend will continue as long as fuel prices are high.
