Annette Rinn (FDP), the head of the Frankfurt regulatory department, wants to use a new concept to counter the rampant nocturnal celebrations on Friedberger Platz in the Nordend.

According to the city's plans, there should be a new alternative area at the Hauptwache so that the people who meet in Frankfurt to celebrate can spread out better.

Rinn hopes that this will relieve the residents of Friedberger Platz in the long term.

The plans are the result of the negotiations of the round table, which was originally set up to work out solutions as to how the nightly celebrations around the market could continue to be possible, but with special consideration for the residents who had been complaining about noise and noise for years rubbish on their doorsteps.

For this reason, open-air parties were only permitted there until 10 p.m.

According to the city, the majority of the approximately 40 members of the round table spoke out in favor of the solution at the main guard.

The area in front of the Museum of Modern Electronic Music (Momem), which is scheduled to open on April 6, is specifically planned.

A statement said they wanted to "create a nice new place for encounters on Fridays at the Hauptwache".

As a result, the situation that a large number of people “who currently populate the available places in the north end to their limits every Friday evening and thus burden them overall” can be equalized.

"If people feel attracted to more places in Frankfurt and are therefore better distributed, this could bring about an improvement in the medium term for residents who are particularly plagued by noise and garbage."

The new concept is to be implemented at the beginning of April, as Annette Rinn says.

With the beginning of the "spring season" "a good togetherness should be made possible and maintained".

It is gratifying "that so many different groups pulled together and developed so many ideas at the round table".

Rinn hopes to have found "solutions that are now satisfactory for all parties".
