Satellite images taken on Thursday show fuel storage tanks on fire at the Russian-controlled Antonov air base in Hostomel, a suburb of northwestern Kyiv.
A thick black plume of smoke can be seen rising from tanks, which stand at the southern end of the air base, according to CNN.

The photos also show a row of apartment buildings destroyed in Borodyanka, a city just northwest of Kyiv.
CNN has previously reported that these apartment buildings were damaged by Russian military attacks.

In the city of Chernihiv, about 130 kilometers northeast of Kyiv, a supermarket has also been destroyed by fire.
