The China Earthquake Networks officially determined that at 20:22 on March 9, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred in the waters of Taitung County, Taiwan (23.21 degrees north latitude, 121.58 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 30 kilometers.
After the earthquake, people in Fuzhou, Putian, Quanzhou and other coastal areas felt the tremor.
Many residents of Fuzhou City felt the obvious tremor by leaving messages on the Internet platform.
According to a reminder from the Fujian Provincial Earthquake Service, the urban area of Fuzhou is about 400 kilometers away from the epicenter, and the impact is about 1 degree, which is slightly felt.
Quanzhou citizen Zhang Hao told reporters that he was in a high-rise building in the urban area and felt the chandelier shaking.
