Psychiatrists have warned against mixing students of different ages inside the school bus, pointing out that this procedure exposes them to psychological problems, as a result of bullying and blind imitation from young adults to adults.

The students' parents called on the Ministry of Education and the bodies responsible for private education in the various Emirates, to compel schools to allocate buses for students at every age, in order to preserve their children from being bullied or violence from older students, especially as they pay high fees for this service.

It was not possible to obtain a response from Emirates Transport about whether there is a law or regulations that prevent the integration of students of different age groups on the same bus.

For his part, a consultant psychiatrist at Al-Amal Hospital in Dubai, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Farajallah, stated that “it is common knowledge that every age stage has challenges and special features that distinguish it,” stressing that “mixing young students with adults has negative effects in the absence of supervisors. She is trained to deal with and separate them and reduce negative behaviors that may affect them psychologically in the long run.

He pointed out that the child goes through different age stages, each of which requires special controls and different needs, starting with the pre-school stage, which is handled by the whole family, and then the study stage so that the classmates have a role and influence in the child's personality alongside the family, and the third stage is the adolescence stage and is characterized The students' personality is free and aspiration to form another personality.

He stressed the need to provide trained supervisors to deal with students of all ages according to a specific protocol appropriate for each age stage, with the special treatment they require, in order to preserve their mental health from any negative behaviors they may be exposed to on the bus.

Professor and consultant psychiatrist at the College of Medicine at Ras Al Khaimah University, Dr. Talaat Matar, said that "psychiatry clinics receive adults suffering from psychological problems because of situations they experienced in childhood, such as bullying and blind imitation," stressing that "the integration of young students with their older peers. It provides a fertile environment for such practices, and makes young children potential victims of them in the future.”

He stressed the need to separate each age group, as is the case in the classroom, to ensure that none of them is exposed to inappropriate situations and behaviors that affect them psychologically and harm them in the long run.

In turn, the clinical psychologist at Al-Amal Hospital, Dr. Laila Al-Mulla, saw that bullying and behavioral influence are the most prominent psychological problems that result from integrating young students with their adult colleagues on school buses, warning against such practices that are pursued by some schools.
