We are still living with the corona pandemic present and everyone has been affected in different ways.

Elderly people and their relatives were not allowed to meet and the government decided on a restraining order that came into force on 1 April 2020 in all nursing homes to prevent the spread of infection.

Safe meeting places for the elderly

The municipality of Härnösand then tried to create safe meeting places at its nursing homes.

And on the same day as Tora Eriksson, who lives at Koltrasten's nursing home, turned 104 years old, the municipality of Härnösand set up a meeting place - a plexiglass sheet on a stand with wheels.

- It also went well, it was not so stupid, says Tora Eriksson who hopes to celebrate her upcoming 106th birthday together with her loved ones.

"Fear turned to loss"

- From the start, it was a very big concern to die from the infection.

Then when this restraining order came, the fear turned more into the lack of relatives, says Frida Norberg who is unit manager at Koltrasten's nursing home.
