A prosecutor from Quimper (Finistère) on Wednesday referred two men suspected of having illegally practiced the profession of chartered accountant.

The respondents, aged 67 and 71, are brothers.

While awaiting their trial on June 9, they have been released and placed under judicial supervision, reports

Individuals have an obligation to remain in the department.

They are also prohibited from working as chartered accountants.

Sanctioned by the Order of Chartered Accountants

The youngest of the brothers is a graduate of this specialty.

In 1998, however, his professional order had struck him off.

He had since been banned from practicing, which he nevertheless did.

In addition to the illegal practice, the sexagenarian is accused of tax evasion.

The eldest, who never obtained a chartered accountant's degree, had worked with his brother.

He will also have to answer for acts of fraud.

The damage inflicted was estimated between 200,000 and 300,000 euros.

The alert had been given by the employee of a company with which one of the two men collaborated, triggering an investigation.
