The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed with the Special Envoy of the Ukrainian President the latest developments on the Ukrainian arena, and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani - from Paris - expressed his country's respect for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, stressing that Qatar's hosting Chadian dialogue is in line with its support for resolving crises through dialogue.

Today, Thursday, the Emir of the State of Qatar received Bektum Rostam, the special envoy of the Ukrainian president, and during the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments on the Ukrainian arena, and the peaceful and diplomatic ways to end the war.

In Paris, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs met today, Thursday, with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. The Qatari minister affirmed that his country is following with great concern the military escalation in Ukraine, and stresses respect for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman made it clear that Qatar's hosting of the Chadian dialogue comes in line with the State of Qatar's firm position in support of resolving crises through diplomatic means and dialogue.

He added that the State of Qatar will spare no effort to play its role with its partners to achieve what would ensure international peace and security, and achieve stability in the region.

In another context, Qatar's Foreign Minister said that his country "is closely following the Libyan developments, and sees the need to end the division process and reach political solutions that will achieve stability for the brotherly Libyan people."

A statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting between the two ministers included discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, and ways to develop it, coinciding with the passage of 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
