SVT travels with one of the vehicles.

The company's CEO Lars Norén is on his way to refuel one of the 28 vehicles included in the haulage company.

- It will cost SEK 10,000 to fill up the tank with diesel.

It is double the price if you count from January 2021, it feels completely deplorable, says Lars Norén.

Is about the tax

The haulier, which he calls medium-sized, is a company with small margins.

He just came from a crisis meeting with one of the larger hauliers in Oskarhamn.

Keeping up with fuel-efficient modern vehicles and continuing to minimize all unnecessary driving are some of the measures that can be taken in the short term, says Lars Norén.

- First and foremost, it is about the tax on diesel, the rulers of the country must ensure that we end up at the same level as the rest of Europe.

Because this will knock everything out, he says.

Forced to raise prices

The haulier has 45 employees and has recently celebrated 70 years in the haulage industry.

With the sharply rising diesel prices, the question now is how long can you last?

- We must always be involved and parry to get our prices up.

So it depends on how much we can get from the customer, in the end it also affects consumers, says Andreas Grahn transport manager and co-owner.

Could it be bankruptcy for the haulier if prices continue to rise?

- I have been involved for 35 years and this is the toughest time I have been involved.

If it continues at this pace, then we will not be able to, says Lars Norén.
