At the meeting, opinions were exchanged over how to deal with the increasing number of refugees from Ukraine following the military invasion of Russia.



In this, Foreign Minister Hayashi announced that he would contribute a portion of the $ 100 million that Japan has prepared for emergency humanitarian assistance to WFP for food assistance to refugees, and requested that it be used effectively. I did.



In response, Secretary-General Beasley thanked Japan for its cooperation and explained the current situation in which support needs are increasing near the border between Ukraine and neighboring Poland, based on the results of the inspections so far.
