Bert Sundström: Almost an absurd theater

Today's negotiations between Ukraine's and Russia's foreign ministers in Antalya, Turkey, did not lead to any progress.

At a press conference after the meeting, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also repeated the lie that Russia did not attack Ukraine.

- Lavrov's claims here are almost absurd theater.

What they really want to negotiate is that Russia wants Ukraine to give up and Ukraine wants Russian soldiers to leave.

Bert Sundström has both guarded and lived in Russia for a long time.

Asked if there are any signs that the Russians are beginning to hesitate in the face of the messages coming from the Kremlin and Putin, he replied:

- I would say that society is divided into two parts.

There are many millions of Russians who believe completely in what Lavrov said today.

Then there are especially younger and well-educated people who know that it is not true.
