The turnout in the 20th presidential election tentatively counted by the National Election Commission was 77.1%.

This is 0.1 percentage points lower than the 77.2% turnout in the 19th presidential election.

As the advance turnout recorded 36.9%, the highest since the introduction of the system in 2014, interest was focused on whether it would exceed 80% for the first time in 25 years since the 15th presidential election in 1997, but this turnout was lower than expected.

Even yesterday (9th) at 1 pm, when the early voting turnout was added, it was 5.8%p higher than the previous election, but the gap narrowed as time passed.

By region, Honam, with strong Democratic support, had the highest turnout since the last presidential election.

Gwangju ranked first among 17 cities with 81.5%, followed by Jeonnam with 81.1% and Jeonbuk with 80.6%.

Daegu, which is called the heart of conservatives, recorded 78.7% of the vote, 1.6% higher than the national average, and Gyeongbuk 78.1%.

It is interpreted as raising the voter turnout for Yeongho-nam as each camp gathered in an ultra-thin match.

In the metropolitan area, which is called a match, Seoul was higher than the national average at 77.9%, followed by Gyeonggi 76.7% and Incheon 74.8%.

In addition, Sejong City had the highest rate of 80.3% after Honam, and Jeju had 72.6%, which again had the lowest turnout following the last presidential election.

The national turnout was 1.4% between 6pm and 7:30pm, when the corona confirmed and quarantined people participated.

The final turnout will be announced as early as this morning.
