In the 20th presidential election, presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, the Power of the People, was elected.
President-elect Yoon received 48.59% and 16.04 million votes while 98% of the votes were counted around 3:50 am today (10th), effectively confirming the election.
Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung received 47.80 percent of the votes, or 15.78 million votes.
The difference in votes is only 0.8 percentage points, or 260,000 votes.
Candidate Lee had the upper hand until the middle of the ballot counting, but at the time of the counting rate of 51%, Candidate Yoon reversed for the first time, maintaining a gap of 0.6~1.0% points.
Because of this, a close battle continued, in which the winner could not be determined until the vote counting rate exceeded 90%.
