The Brest Criminal Court (Finistère) sentenced a sexagenarian to eighteen months in prison with a warrant of committal on Friday for acts of sexual assault on a minor.

Shortly before receiving his sentence, the man fled.

The facts of which the pensioner was found guilty go back to about twenty years and concern an 11-year-old boy.

His family housed the pedophile, who indulged in touching him.

Other victims have been identified by the investigators but these assaults were prescribed.

Placed in custody

“It was not a real flight or the will not to serve his sentence”, explained his lawyer.

The latter said that his client would have taken advantage of his last evening to put his affairs in order.

After surrendering, the condemned man was immediately placed in detention in Brest to serve his sentence.
