Candidate Jung Woo-taek, the People's Power, was elected in the re/by-election of the National Assembly member in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, which was held along with the 20th presidential election.
According to the election statistics system of the National Election Commission, as of 3:21 a.m., with 99.96% of the vote counting, Candidate Chung ranked first with 56.92% of the votes.
Candidate Chung, who was elected here in the 19th and 20th general elections, defeated rivals within the party and was nominated and effectively 'entered without blood'.
The Democratic Party of Korea did not nominate this region.
In second place, independent candidate Kim Si-jin received 32.81% of the votes.
